Bless + Release is a personal journey. The inspiration came at the end of a period of much loss in my life, six deaths in my family, seven including the death of my marriage.
A few days after the remarriage of my former husband, it was clear to me that the time had come to repurpose my beautiful engagement ring. It had been sitting in the bank down the street from my home for over a decade. Aside from putting the ring on and admiring its beauty each time I would enter my safety deposit box, I didn’t think much about the ring. Out of sight, out of mind. Or so I thought.
I had an epiphany in a most unlikely setting. Growing up as a Metro North girl taking the train along the Hudson River to arrive in New York City, truly one of the most beautiful train journeys in the world, New Jersey transit has always been a disappointment to me as it lacks the grounding beauty of the majestic Hudson - uninterrupted beauty as the tracks are literally next to the river bank with very few exceptions. My perspective has changed. Aside from the birth of my children, I had one of the most incredible experiences of my life on NJ Transit that day.
Somewhere mid journey, I had a euphoric feeling come over me. It permeated my entire being. I felt unimaginable joy, a release. Years before, someone had shared with me the concept that I was “Larger than my Story”. At the time, I thought, thank goodness! On that train trip, I felt that I was starting a new chapter in the story of my life.
I was grateful. Truy. Madly. Deeply Grateful. The next wave that came was a profound desire to share my experience with others, not simply to tell them but to facilitate their having their own experience. And so began the birth of Bless + Release.
